With CAST, filumen introduces a compact LED light made from glass, designed by the young design duo Büro Famos. LED technology, cast glass and anodised aluminium merge into a concentrated beam of light,

shining all around without blinding. The charm of the solid cast glass lies in its craftsmanship, with its typically irregular structures and small air inclusions.

Glass casting is a very archaic, handcraft method that has almost completely vanished today. Only a few glassmakers still know how to deal with the tensions and the viscosity in the glass.

This only increases the attractiveness of combining such old techniques with new digitally controlled processes.
